Connaissance du Monde - SIA

Session #1

You have started doing research for your project, and you will need to assess the quality of the information that you find.

  • Is the source reliable?

  • Is the information/data still valid? Is it quality information/data?

  • Is the information relevant to my specific topic?

  1. Comparing sources and making a checklist

    1. Choose a topic: Northern Ireland or the Calais Jungle

    2. Assess the reliability and relevance of 5 sources.

    3. Choose the best one / most suitable one for your purpose

    4. Make a check list: find 10 elements that you think need to be checked every time you assess the validity of a piece of information / data

  2. Assessing a source using your personal checklist

    1. You will find one extra source on this subject and justify your choice.

    2. Have a look at the Revue française de Civilisation Britannique to see if you can find some inspiration as to what line of questioning / Type of partner you could find.
